Fashion | Go to places for Plus Size clothes that fit!
Plus Size
\ ˈpləs-ˈsīz \
Definition of plus-size
of clothing
: extra-large.
…according to the Webster dictionary this what plus size means. Baby…let me tell you plus size includes more than extra-large. Triple X me please! I absolutely love Fashion. Clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc. However, what I like doesn’t always like me. It’s usually one of two things… it doesn’t fit at all or doesn’t fit well. I have always been a “Plus Size” girl and I have the confidence of the finest woman on earth, but I know my limits. So, what I mean by not fitting well is some fabrics or cuts are not flattering for my body. In this post I will be sharing some ‘Go to” places for Plus size women to shop and the clothes fit.
Some of my favorite places to shop in no specific order are:
· Amazon.com boutiques- I have purchased mainly dresses, earrings, statement necklaces, and shoes. Like m=any online store I highly rely on reviews and review pictures. I always look for someone close in size to see if its worth buying. I have had many successful buys than not.
· Torrid- I have been a fan of this store since I was a freshman in high school. I will never forget walking in the store for the first time at the Garden State Mall in New Jersey. I was so excited to see FASHIONABLE plus size clothing. Plus size target market back then was elastic and seemingly for older women. I have bought just about everything from here panties to shoes to jeans to dresses. You name it I have it.
· ThredUp.com- One of the best online thrift stores ever. I used to absolutely love vintage clothes. However, I never got the joy of thrifting because they almost never had my size. My idea of thrifting was my Grandma closet lol…she still has some of the best pieces. This site has some of the best plus size fashion finds. You can sell your lightly worn items here too. Win, win!
· Its Fashion Metro- Cute affordable clothes. I am always surprised how much variety the plus size section has at this store. I love the leggings, maxi skirts, and shirts. The jewelry department is amazing too. Huge statement jewelry all for less than $10 often.
· Walmart- I love Wallie World. They have everything literally. My faves has been leggings, work slacks, sweatpants, pantyhose, shoes, etc
· Asos Curve & Plus size- I have been a consumer for only a year but I absolutely love this brand. I typically order from the UK though. They have more variety in the larger sizes than the US stores. I have only bought dresses & flats from here so far.
· Shoeshow.com- Stylish cheap shoes. Can’t go wrong with it honestly. I love the wide width option on many styles of shoes.
· Eshakti.com- Custom dresses that can be as simple or dramatic as you want them to be. This was a Church Girl dream (My dream) to discover this site. Custom dresses aren’t easy to find in my neck of the woods…especially made well.
· Lane Bryant- Great jeans, panties, and Bras. I have a few other items from clearance, but I don’t frequent here as often as I’d like to.
· Clothes Mentor- The best local consignment/thrift shop. Always clean and organized to find great everyday clothes for great prices. They also carry high ticketed items randomly as they are donated. You can sell your clothes here as well.
· Roses Discount Store- MY FAVORITE!!! This store has a bad reputation by some, but I have only had great experiences with this discount store. I know this is a fashion post, but I literally get everything from this store. Soap, cards, frames, wall art, lashes, snacks, as seen on tv products, and the most stylish affordable fashion!
· and many more…
I would love to list more major plus size brands. Their clothes don’t always fit and can be overpriced. That alone makes it not a favorite of mine. Frugal, Bargain, Clearance is more my speed. *shrug* I’m blessed financially but back when I had to piece outfits together it was not only fun but my best sense of fashion. If it’s not broke don’t fix it.
